Voter Registration

Are you new  to Colorado or registering to vote for the first time?

To be eligible to vote in Colorado, you must be:

  •  A U.S. citizen
  •  At least 18-years-old by the time of the election*
  •  A resident of Colorado for at least 22 days before the election
  •  Must not be serving a sentence of confinement or detention for a felony conviction (Note: Those on probation or   parole ARE ELIGIBLE to vote.)

*17-year-olds can vote in primary elections if they will turn 18 by the time of the following general election. Additionally, 16 and 17-year-olds are encouraged to pre-register to vote. This means that they will automatically be mailed a ballot when they become eligible to vote in an election.

ID Requirements

While you do not need to have a Colorado ID, CO Driver's License or other form of acceptable ID in order to register, you must produce this documentation the first time you vote.  Thus, it is recommended to provide this documentation during this registration process to avoid needing to mail in a form of identification when you vote.

Visit the Secretary of State list of Acceptable Forms of Identification
